Dedication Ceremony of the Dr. Jose P. Rizal Monument

On January 13, 2001, the Council  for Filipino-American Organizations of Central Florida formally unveiled the newest addition to the City of Orlando's International Plaza at Lake Eola - the bust of Philippine national hero - José Protacio Rizal.  Dr. Rizal joins Don Miguel Hidalgo of Mexico, Simón Bolivar of South America, and José Martí of Cuba.  The Honorable Mayor Glenda E, Hood was the featured guest speaker.  The event was attended by the leaders of the Central Florida Philippine community with representatives of the Jacksonville community.

The Orlando Faith Singers perform "America the Beautiful. "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" played on the Angklungs. Sir Ronnie Escano and Sir Eddie Jose perform "Pilipinas Kong Mahal" and "God Bless America."
